For the anterior (front) teeth white composite fillings are often used. Composite fillings are also available for the back teeth as we are aware that the silver amalgam fillings are not as aesthetically pleasing as composites, however, amalgam restorations are strong, durable and often can’t be spotted if they are towards the back of the mouth. White fillings can also be strong and are most definitely more discreet in comparison to the amalgam alternative.

A crown is an artificial restoration that fits over an existing tooth. Crowns are an ideal restoration for teeth that have been broken or have been weakened by decay or a very large filling.
